Student Placement Program at CCAS
Our student placement program integrates practical experience with academic learning, helping students build a strong professional foundation for their careers. Led by our Learning and Development team, the program offers:
- Opportunities to work alongside experienced social services professionals.
- Mentorship from field instructors who provide guidance, feedback, and evaluation.
- A dynamic learning environment that benefits both students and staff.

Placement Opportunities
We offer student placements in the following fields:
- Social Work (BSW/MSW)
- Child & Youth Care (CYC)
- Nursing (BScN)
These placements allow students to gain valuable, real-world experience while contributing to the important work of CCAS.

Application Process
CCAS accepts student placement applications twice a year, with placements beginning in September and January.
How to Apply:
- Contact your college or university’s Practicum Coordinator.
- The Practicum Coordinator will submit selected candidates to CCAS for consideration.
- If selected, students will be contacted for an interview.
Vulnerable Sector Police Check (Level 3)
To ensure the safety and well-being of the children and families we serve, all students must provide a current, original Vulnerable Sector Police Check (issued within the last year) before starting their placement.
