Dress Purple Day 2025: Show You Care, Support Child Well-Being and Safety – Join the Movement on October 16th

The Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Toronto (CCAS) is proud to connect with communities across Ontario in support of Dress Purple Day, taking place this year on Thursday, October 16th. This annual initiative, led by the Ontario Association of Children’s Aid Societies (OACAS), is a powerful call to action—inviting individuals, schools, businesses, and organizations to wear purple and raise awareness about the vital supports available to help children, youth, and families thrive.

This year, CCAS is partnering with the Children’s Aid Society of TorontoJewish Family & Child Service, and Native Child and Family Services of Toronto to amplify a shared message: every child and youth has the right to safety and well-being, and it is the responsibility of all of us to help protect and support them.

🧒🏽 Why Dress Purple?

Dress Purple Day is more than just a colour—it’s a symbol of solidarity and care. It shines a light on the many challenges families face, including:

  • Food and housing insecurity
  • Mental health struggles
  • Substance use and addiction
  • Intimate partner violence

By wearing purple, we remind children and youth that they are not alone. We show them that a strong network of caring adults and community resources is ready to support them and their families.

🤝 How You Can Participate
