Dress Purple Day: Raising Awareness Together

Every October, Children’s Aid Societies (CASs) across the province unite to promote a message of support for vulnerable children, youth, and families. Dress Purple Day serves as a powerful reminder of the essential role that individuals and communities play in upholding the safety and well-being of our most precious members.

On Dress Purple Day, our focus is clear, CASs are not isolated entities, but integral parts of a caring community. We emphasize the early help and supportive services available to families’ facing challenges. We also recognize our role in prevention and early intervention work, with the aim of keeping families intact and ensuring the safety of children and youth.

Every Child’s Right to Safety and Well-Being

In the spirit of Dress Purple Day, we stand up for the rights of every child and youth. It’s not just about physical safety and well-being; it’s about safeguarding their intersectional identities, including culture, race, sexual orientation, and gender identity, in all spaces.

How to Show Support on Dress Purple Day

This year, CCAS is hosting an event IN the community and FOR the community on October 27, 2023. If you would like more information on how you can participate, please reach out to our Communications Team by email: communications@torontoccas.org.

Wearing purple is one powerful way to show your support on Dress Purple Day. By adorning yourself in this vibrant color, you symbolize your commitment to the well-being of children and youth in our community.

Dress Purple Day is a celebration of our community, one that cares for families and reinforces the message that help is always available. No one is alone on this journey.

Join us in this impactful campaign for awareness and change. On October 27th, show your support online by sharing a photo or video on social media to support Dress Purple Day and tag @ccastoronto. Together, we can create a safer and more nurturing community.
