Celebrating Pride Month at CCAS

At Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Toronto (CCAS), we are proud to recognize and celebrate Pride Month—a time to honour the resilience, diversity, and contributions of the 2SLGBTQI+ community. Pride is both a celebration and a call to action: a moment for reflection, education, and a renewed commitment to creating inclusive, affirming spaces for all.

Guided by our Catholic values, we believe in the inherent dignity of every person. Our faith calls us to love unconditionally, to stand with those who are marginalized, and to promote justice, inclusion, and compassion in all that we do. These values shape our work with children, youth, families, caregivers, and communities and compel us to ensure that everyone feels seen, valued, and safe.

At CCAS, inclusion is not just a value—it is a lived commitment. We welcome and uplift individuals of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions, recognizing that diversity is a strength. Each person brings unique gifts and perspectives that enrich our community and the care we provide.

Pride Month also reminds us of the importance of allyship. We continue to invest in our learning and growth as an agency—building our understanding of Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression (SOGIE) and reducing stigma through education and open dialogue. These efforts help us live out our mission with integrity, ensuring that our services reflect the compassion and justice at the heart of our Catholic identity.

We know that when children and youth are affirmed for who they are, they are more likely to thrive. That’s why we work tirelessly to foster an environment where all young people—especially those from the 2SLGBTQI+ community—are supported, celebrated, and empowered to grow in confidence and hope.

This Pride Month, we invite our wider community to join us in embracing the values that guide our work. Let us come together in allyship and love, striving toward a world where every child and family—regardless of identity—can experience belonging and dignity.

Happy Pride Month from all of us at CCAS.
