2SLGBTQ+ Statement
The Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Toronto (CCAS) values and celebrates the diversity of Toronto’s Catholic community and is committed to ensuring that children, youth and families have an equal opportunity to develop and express their authentic identities.
In line with CCAS’ Anti-Black Racism, Anti-Racism and Anti-Oppression (ARAO), and Indigenous commitments, the Society acknowledges that 2SLGBTQ+ communities experience disparities and differential treatment compared to the non 2SLGBTQ+ community counterparts, including young people in CCAS’ care.
Along with faith, gender identity and/or sexual orientation, it is imperative that other intersecting identities, such as race, ethnicity, culture, age, ability, class, neurodivergence and other social characteristics, are centered, in providing equitable services to this community.
CCAS is committed to creating a safe and affirming space for 2SLGBTQ+ children, youth, families, and community members.
